I help teams and companies to move ideas faster to production. In my efforts to do this I started my agile journey with Scrum and XP, but pretty soon grew interested in kanban and that opened the door to lean in general more specifically lean in software development. I pragmatically mix these techniques to help companies to improve. Being a developer from the start of my career. I still have a connection to the practices that makes the ideas move fast. I contribute to some open source frameworks such as NancyFx (http://nancyfx.org/), Koa (http://koajs.com/) and ClaudiaJs (http://claudiajs.com). I have also produced 3 courses on JavaScript development for PluralSight (https://www.pluralsight.com/author/marcus-hammarberg). I have been working mostly within big organisations such as banks, insurance and food retail companies, but I also have experience from the startup scene working with Tradera (Swedish Ebay) and Spotify. My role is often one of a coach, teacher and change agent from the team to the organization level. I am one of the authors to Kanban In Action (http://bit.ly/theKanbanBook) and I run a blog since 2006 at www.marcusoft.net. Between 2014-2016 I worked for the Salvation Army in Indonesia helping their 6 hospitals and 17 clinics to become more effective. In particular I was part of a team saving a hospital near my home in Bandung. I'm writing another book about that experience - you can read about it here (http://bit.ly/bungsubook) My usual day-to-day job involve coaching teams and organisation around lean and agile. My clients range from banks, insurance companies and food retailers all the way to the big start ups of Sweden. And the occasional hospital.

A sought after public speaker, John Kriesel travels throughout the country sharing his story, inspiring and motivating others. Kriesel’s intensely positive attitude infects every person he shares his story with from students to senior corporate executives as he relays lessons learned to overcome extreme tragedy. On December 2, 2006, the vehicle Kriesel and four of his comrades were riding in encountered a 200 lb. Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The blast killed two of Kriesel’s best friends and he was severely injured, losing both legs, suffering numerous broken bones and internal injuries. He was transported to two field hospitals in Iraq where he died three times on the operating table before doctors saved his life. He woke up in Walter Reed Army Medical Center after an 8-day medically induced coma where he learned about the death of his two comrades and the severity of his injuries. Nine months after his near-death experience in Iraq, John returned to Minnesota to begin his new life. His transition from military to civilian life offered many challenges, but his amazing support system, positive attitude and sense of humor allowed him to bounce back stronger than ever. During John’s presentation, he will describe his decision to join the military at 17 years of age, and his overseas deployments. He will discuss in detail the tragic events of December 2, 2006, and his thoughts and feelings as he laid on a dirt road in Iraq, nearly bleeding to death. He will describe what it was like when he woke up from an 8-day coma in the United States and began his recovery. John’s story, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life will leave your audience inspired.

Born and raised in Issaquah, Washington (30 minutes east of Seattle), Billy Price grew up very active in sports. Hiking and camping were staples. Mountain biking was a frequent treat. At eighteen, he left home and entered college. He was on top of the world, as the cliche goes. And then in a moment, his life changed forever. On October 9, 1996, Billy fell from a three-story window, broke multiple vertebrae and damaged his spinal cord causing permanent paralysis. The medical diagnosis? Quadriplegia. And the world that Billy was accustomed to—a world filled with fierce independence—was gone. Instead, Billy spent the next five-months of his life at the University of Washington Medical Center piecing his life back together both physically and mentally. Forced to grapple with either success or sorrow, Billy opted to focus on the function he still had instead of letting the thought of what he had lost consume him. Inch by inch, day by day, he improved, not in the sense of reversing paralysis, but in the sense of building confidence and gaining strength in what he had. Following his rehabilitation, Billy returned to college and finished his mechanical engineering degree. He relearned how to drive. He took the ski slopes back as a sit skier.
