The truth is, like most other veterans, I have learned how to be thrown into a new, unfamiliar situation, quickly assess how things function, master my surroundings, find ways to make things more efficient, teach a new person how to become a master, and move on to the next challenge. In the military, we did not work for profit, we worked to be efficient masters of our domain in a short period of time, and get the mission done, no matter what. The problem is that most military veterans don't know how to communicate this culture to the 99% of the population who never served in the military. I can translate those opposing mindsets to each other in a positive way, so each side better understands each other and is able to function together. I am married for the second time, with a blended family of seven kids. This, combined with my military service and a Graduate degree in Performance Psychology allows me to understand the brain, human instincts, and stress.
