Mike is a workplace health and safety consultant with WorkBright™. Prior to joining WorkBright™, Mike spent over a decade working with one of Ontario’s largest provincial health and safety associations. During this time he led groups consisting of the Ministry of Labour, associations, employers, and unions to collectively address health and safety issues within the construction, transportation, and utilities industries. He led industry consultations on amendments to health and safety legislation for workplace noise, carbon monoxide, and chemical exposures to workers, and was key in developing health and safety guidance documents, training, and communications accessed by thousands of workplaces across Ontario.
Mike is also an occupational hygienist. He has consulted and worked directly with businesses, HR professionals, and Joint Health and Safety Committees to reduce risk and avoid compliance issues associated with many different workplace hazards. He teaches in the health and safety certificate program at Metropolitan Toronto University (formerly Ryerson) and volunteers with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals to assess candidate applications for certification.
Mike is known to be an effective communicator with his audiences, taking complex matters and effectively communicating what is relevant in simple and practical terms.
