Latyna M. Humphrey is the current President of the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats. In 2018, she was appointed as President of the Organization. The Central Ohio Young Black Democrats are chartered underneath the Ohio Democratic Party. The Organization is 1 of the 5 chapters throughout the state of Ohio. She is also the first female President of that Organization.
Formally, Latyna was the Secretary of the Ohio Young Black Democrats--- the umbrella of all five chapters from 2017-2018. Prior to that she served as the Fundraising and Philanthropy chair for the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats from 2016-2017. She is also an active member of the Franklin County Young Democrats and the Ohio Young Democrats.
Latyna, is a graduate of Columbus State Community College with an Associate of Arts in Political Science (2017). Currently, Ms. Humphrey is in process of completing her Bachelors of Science from Franklin University majoring in Applied Psychology (2019). Ms. Humphrey currently serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Franklin County Auditor’s Office of Mr. Michael Stinziano.
Ms. Humphrey is a tremendous champion for minorities--- she is a mother, community leader, organizer, speaker and an advocate of women’s rights. Latyna has always demonstrated concern
for the plight of the underserved. She has been a mentor for Columbus City Schools for the past 5 years. She is a fierce spokeswoman for civil rights—she strongly believes in not only
equality but equity. She focuses on race and class and the disparities attached. She is also a strong proponent of civic engagement, with a direct focus on voter education and voting rights.
Latyna has spoken at multiple Colleges and Universities across the country; Ohio State University, Columbia University, Hampton University, Columbus State Community College and
Capital University. She is also a current member of For(bes): The Culture. An organization formed for entrepreneurs and visionaries alike at the Forbes Summit in 2017. Additionally,
Latyna serves as an appointed member of the Franklin County Democratic Party’s Executive Committee. She also serves as Treasurer for Ohio House Representative Erica C. Crawley.
Latyna has been featured in the Columbus Dispatch multiple times. As well as featured on 10tv news and NBC4 on multiple occasions. In addition to being requested to commentate on Democratic Presidential Debate Primaries for NBC Universal News Now in New York City. Latyna has received recognition from United States Senator Sherrod Brown, Columbus City
Attorney Zach Klein, Mayor of the City of Columbus Mr. Andrew J. Ginther and the Chief of Diversity and Inclusion from Huntington National Bank Mr. Marlon Moore and many others.
