With a background in Building, Energy and Environmental Engineering, I've dedicated my career to harmonizing technology and sustainability. My passion for IT, coupled with a deep concern for our environment, forms the backbone of my professional ethos. As a Sustainability IT professional, I've had the privilege of implementing strategies that not only optimized operational efficiency but also reduced overall environmental risks such as carbon footprint. One of my projects involved leading a technology strategy to reduce overall IT hardware by implementing a container platform which resulted in a significant decrease in annual energy consumption, reduced hardware purchase, and optimized resource allocation for worklodas reducing heat generation and cooling needs. Complementing this, I spearheaded the integration of sustainability into Canada's major Telecom company IT strategy and developed comprehensive energy and carbon footprint assessments and benchmarks for all IT workloads. I Implemented a carbon footprint measure in the infrastructure provisioning process, collaborated with AWS and Google to enhance cloud carbon measurements and influenced finance teams to consider CO2 emissions and energy consumption as key IT operational metrics. Beyond these technical endeavours, my work in integrating sustainability principles into IT and tech decision-making stands as a testament to my commitment to a green future. I am currently pursuing a Master of Industrial Engineering, with a concentration in Circular Economy, underscoring my commitment to sustainable practices. Innovation, environmental stewardship and sustainable efficiency are my guiding principles and values I use to drive further changes in the tech industry.
